Throughout the next month I am planning quite the clean-out binge! This includes my home, my diet, and my schedule. Lately, things are piling up and I just keep climbing trying to get to the top of a pile of unnecessary crap.
About two weeks ago I brought out our winter clothes and stored our summer clothes away since we now wont need them for at least 8 months. While putting the summer clothes away though, I decided to make a donation pile of things I knew i didn’t wear at all this summer. I had a good size pile going (even though it took some real strength to let go of some things…I’m a bit of a clothes hoarder) and decided to work on Cody’s clothes next. I cut our summer wardrobe almost completely in half! It felt great. I now had things to donate and I created a little extra storage room.
Since that day I have been thinking non-stop about what else I can get rid of to lighten up the load at home. I was in the kitchen rummaging when I thought, “hey, why don’t I try this cleaning method with my whole life?” I plan to deep-clean the house & donate A LOT hopefully, starting in the bedrooms and making my way through the kitchen, living room and my terribly stuffed guest room closet (yikes). Next comes the fridge and cabinets, anything with unhealthy amounts of fat, salt and sugar will be introduced to the trash. Last, I’ll take a look at my schedule and work on re-organizing so I don’t feel like I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
Cleaning has never been my strong suit (just ask my mom) but I do like organizing and I think this project will help lift a heavy load off my shoulders and give me a great sense of accomplishment.
