If you’re like me, you love a good fun-filed weekend packed with adventures and good times , but if you’re even more like me, you really love a “stay in your pj’s, drink lots of tea, netflix & knitting” kind of weekend. While friends and family are a vital part of life, so is alone time. There is something actually energizing and refreshing about spending time with yourself.
Watch your favorite disney movies, binge watch a new or old show on netflix, have a Harry Potter marathon, indulge in the discovery channel all day (Planet earth is my fav) do whatever makes YOU happiest. Maybe you need an electronic/social media-free weekend. Take a long bath, turn some music on and clean or dance around, go for a walk, sit in the park, read a good book or nap ALL DAY.
The importance of these “do nothing” days is to remind yourself who you really are, and to remember that your are the most important thing in your life. You need to slow down and take care of yourself every once in a while, if you don’t, how do you expect to be able to care for anyone else?
So, have fun with your “you days”! Drink lots of chocolate milk, dance in your undies, have a movie marathon, LOVE YOURSELF and recharge for the days of giving your all for others!
